Understanding the Bible and Sabbath Rest
IntroductionThe Bible is often seen as a collection of independent stories, but when viewed as a whole, it reveals a consistent narrative about God’s plan for humanity.
Key Points• Chris Franke, Senior Pastor of HFF Church, hosts the HHP Podcast, discussing topics about the Bible, church, and family.• In November, Chris and his family practiced a sabbatical for 30 days, extending their weekly Sabbath rest. This transformed their lives, emphasizing resting in God’s presence rather than continual work.• During the sabbatical, Chris received significant insights regarding the church's direction and began writing extensively as he felt inspired by God.• Two key themes emerged: the necessity of forgiveness and the mission of God leading up to Jesus Christ.• Chris discusses the Beatitudes found in Matthew 5 and Luke 6, contrasting them with cultural attitudes that celebrate pride and arrogance.• He emphasizes the values of humility, mercy, and righteousness as taught by Jesus, describing these as the characteristics that define a community aligned with God’s Kingdom.
ConclusionJesus' teachings present an "upside-down" view of the Kingdom of God, where people matter and are treated with respect and kindness. For more resources or to visit the church, listeners are encouraged to engage with the community.

Our thoughts, habits, and environments shape who we are, leading to both healthy and unhealthy fears. Healthy fears, like fearing fire, are constructive, while unhealthy fears, such as fearing others who are different, are harmful. Fear is learned, so how do we unlearn unhealthy fear?
Our thoughts influence our habits, which shapes our environment.  So how do we replace anxiety in our life and relationships with awe and healthy habits?  By replacing fear with awe how to we reshape our priorities, and re-evaluate our unknown or perceived threats?  The Bible is a road map to teach us to respect the Lord at the beginning of our wisdom process, but that requires learning about and valuing God.
We should not fear God in an abusive way but rather embrace awe in Him. This trust helps us heal and live abundantly without being held back by fear. Chris invites reflection on whether we are led by fear or conviction.
Thank you for supporting the podcast and for desiring a deeper relationships with Jesus and His Holy Spirit.

Today, many people create God in their own image instead of being transformed into His image, which represents a new creation. This shift leads individuals to remain unchanged while trying to mold God to fit their views.
In the HHP Podcast, hosted by Chris Franke, the Senior Pastor of HFF Church in Oklahoma City, discussions center on the Bible, church, and family. Chris acknowledges that all humans make mistakes, impacting those around them. When people are hurt, they may isolate, retaliate, or begin healing. Although healing is desirable, societal pressures often keep people feeling broken.
Chris reflects on Kintsugi, a Japanese art form that repairs broken pottery with gold, symbolizing beauty in brokenness with God's help. Unlike the cultural focus on self, Chris suggests centering our lives on God. Key principles include prioritizing God, loving Him and others, avoiding lust, and surrounding oneself with godly people. The culture promotes one's love of self, leading to issues like loneliness and anxiety. True identity is meant to be found in Jesus, not in material achievements.
Lastly, those blessed by the podcast are encouraged to support it and visit the website for more resources or to join the church in Oklahoma City.

As a father, I sometimes wish I could completely protect my daughters from harm, but locking them away wouldn’t be real love. Love means allowing freedom, even if it leads to pain. God is perfect and allows free will, which can result in hurtful consequences. I believe God does not enjoy our suffering but is here with us during tough times. He uses these moments for us to heal and grow, wanting to shape our character to be more like Him and less self-centered.
So why does God allow hurt?  When we face difficulties, it’s easy to feel abandoned, but God is indeed with us. While He allows us to make choices, He can transform our struggles for our good. Ultimately, it’s about our renewal in a new kingdom with God, where we learn and grow from our experiences.

Introduction:
Many feel dissatisfied with their experiences in church.  Many feel their church doesn't meet their needs, or lacks something they desire.  But what if you are missing the point, what if you are attempting to find a way to leave when God is encouraging you to connect and change?

Key Points:• Personal grievances about the church, including dissatisfaction with the pastor, worship style, food, and small groups.  Yet are those excuses?• The importance of community is emphasized as a way to heal from personal struggles and traumas.• Biblical example of Moses needing support from friends to succeed in his tasks.• Community plays a crucial role in emotional and spiritual healing, as God designed people to be together.• Healing is likened to a grieving cycle that can become stagnant if one doesn’t seek support.• Reflect on personal growth and the necessity of leaning on others for help.• Disagreements in close relationships are normal, but the goal should be restoration rather than separation.

Conclusion:Pastor Chris invites listeners to consider their support systems and urges them to connect with others. For more information on resources or attending church services, visit hff. church.

Understanding Trauma and Healing
Trauma affects everyone, coming from different sources such as family, partners, or even society. This pain can leave lasting wounds, but there is hope for healing.
Key Points:• Trauma comes from various people and experiences.• Acknowledging the hurt is the first step toward healing.• The Bible emphasizes the need for healing, and God can help through prayer.• Healing involves both processing grief and actively seeking recovery.• Everyone's healing journey is unique, but God desires for all to be free and live abundantly.

Conclusion:Embracing and discussing trauma is crucial for healing, urging individuals to rely on faith in God for restoration.

We live in a unique time where anyone can share their voice online to millions with just a button. Information is everywhere, but while making a point is easy, making a real difference is tough.

Making a point can be done in seconds, but meaningful change in someone's life can take a long time. Chris shares examples from the Bible, highlighting how Jesus handled challenges from the scribes and Pharisees. Despite their valid arguments, Jesus focused on making a difference, especially in the life of a woman caught in adultery and a man with a withered hand.

While many can express their views, only a few truly make lasting impacts. Today's culture promotes quick fixes and distractions, making it challenging to commit to important issues. Chris encourages listeners to reflect on whether they aim to make points or genuinely make a difference, noting that while it's easy to share opinions, true change requires dedication. For support and more resources, visit hff. church and join them for Saturday Church in OKC.

Welcome to today's podcast with Pastor Chris. He discusses that spiritual issues cannot be solved with physical actions. It's important to attempt to change our daily habits to get closer to God. Pastor Chris invites listeners to think about personal struggles, such as finances, spirituality, or self-esteem, and to imagine life without these struggles.
He poses questions about faith and whether struggles would remain if one did not believe in God. He suggests the idea of a perfect program that could eliminate problems and asks if listeners would believe in such a solution. The podcast emphasizes that while physical efforts can help, many problems are mental, emotional, or spiritual. It reflects on the conflict between our physical nature and spiritual nature and highlights the consequences of this struggle, which can lead to issues like divorce, eating disorders, and financial problems.
Pastor Chris notes that humans have both a physical body and a spiritual breath of life from God. He comments on the innocence of children and how they learn negative traits through life's experiences. He emphasizes the importance of love and living by the spirit rather than the flesh, referencing Galatians 5, which speaks about freedom in Christ and the need to walk by the spirit. The podcast concludes by suggesting that the solution to struggles may be to surrender them to Jesus.
For those interested in church resources, they can visit the website or join Saturday Church in Oklahoma City.

Teaching our children to take responsibility for their choices is crucial for their growth.  Without this, they may fail to learn important lessons in their development and blame others for their actions.  Join Pastor Chris of HFF Church, as he discusses how intimate relationships, whether between spouses, or friends help reflect our spiritual state.
What husbands do and don't do influence his wife and families well-being.  When there are problems in your home they normally indicate larger issues within one's relationship with God.  Advice with accountability should be done in caution, leading people to invest in healthy relationships that bring a successful legacy.

Join Pastor Chris as he looks at healing, and how we walk as a church community.  As a new Christian Podcast we want to take an honest look at key elements of the scriptures.  How do we practically walk that out without shame and guilt?  How to adjust our thoughts, habits and character to impact not only our fruit but the lives of those around us.  Are we heretics?  Only you can decide.
