What does it mean to truly give God your best? In this episode of the HHP Podcast, Pastor Chris Franke dives deep into the biblical principle of firstfruits — the act of offering to God what comes first, not what's left over. From Cain and Abel to Abraham and even to Christ Himself, the pattern is clear: faith is the true measure of an offering.
Join us as we explore the power of surrender, the meaning behind giving our "first," and why this ancient truth still echoes through Scripture and into our lives today. We'll also touch on why we call it First Fruits instead of Easter, and how Jesus' resurrection changes everything.
🙏 Hosted by Pastor Chris Franke of HFF Church in Oklahoma City📖 Real talk on faith, the Bible, church life, and family🎙 Engaging conversation with believers across the country

The Passover is a feast from God meant to celebrate God's deliverance, not just for Jews, but for all people. It serves as a reminder of God's power to save and foreshadows the death of Jesus. During Passover, Jesus established the Lord’s Supper, linking the Israelites' freedom from slavery to spiritual freedom from sin through His blood.
Passover, or Pesach, commemorates the Israelites' escape from Egyptian slavery as detailed in Exodus. God instructed them to sacrifice a lamb and mark their doorposts with its blood to protect them from the Angel of Death. This meal is an annual reminder of God's deliverance. The food served holds significant meanings representing both their struggles and hopes.
The connections between Jesus and Passover are evident in the Gospels, especially during the Last Supper, which coincided with the Passover meal. Jesus transformed this feast of remembrance into a symbol of His sacrifice for humanity. He fulfilled over 300 prophecies and established a New Covenant through His death and resurrection, offering redemption and new life.
Passover is a time meant for unity and remembrance, but in some Christian circles, it has become divisive. The essence of Passover is to reflect on God's love shown through Jesus, the Lamb who delivers us from sin and death. It is a time for gratitude and reflection on our faith. Jesus is central to the meaning of this Passover season.

The book of Leviticus is often viewed as a set of if-then rules regarding blessings and curses. However, what happens when these results are not immediate or automatic? Chris Frankie, senior pastor of HFF church in Oklahoma City, invites listeners to explore topics about the Bible, church, and family through the HHP podcast. He reflects on parenting methods that emphasize clear expectations for children’s behavior and how this relates to the teachings in the Torah. Over the years, the messianic movement has shifted its focus, becoming more centered on people rather than on the Messiah.
Chris points out that while the Leviticus guidelines are relevant, they should be interpreted with care and spiritual insight. Modern understandings of slavery differ significantly from the past, and blessings or curses are not always tied directly to obedience. Many people misunderstand God's judgment, thinking He is waiting to punish them for their mistakes, akin to a courtroom scenario. The movement should remember that all are guilty, but they can find grace through Jesus, regardless of their denominational background.
True love for God leads to obedience and integrity, making it simpler to follow commandments. People struggle with various issues, but basic moral principles can be straightforward. God’s discipline is meant to help us align with Him, not to make us feel inadequate. Ultimately, God's purpose is restoration through Christ, which cannot be achieved through our efforts alone. For further support, listeners are encouraged to visit the church's website or attend services.

As our church prepares for Passover over 28 days, there is a common misunderstanding I notice: the belief that "I obey because I love." Although I wish this were the case, my experience over 20 years shows that this isn't true for many people. We claim to love God, but often our obedience doesn't stem from love.
We need to grow in our relationship with Christ. Many people have not seen growth in their faith for years, indicating that God may not be active in their lives. Real growth should be visible in our prayer, worship, and relationships. There are blessings for obedience, including spiritual growth and the building of God's kingdom.
Join us as Pastor Chris looks at the truth behind why many people struggle in the relationship with God.

Paul tells us to offer ourselves as a living sacrifice, referencing the sacrificial system found in Leviticus. Jesus tells us, "if you love me you will keep my teachings." Yet do we do all of these things out of the love of Jesus or the fear of retribution from God?
God isn't looking for malicious obedience, He is calling us into a partnership to help His kingdom manifest in fruitfulness and multiplication. Join us as we talk about that!

Many look to the Bible for clear, concise, and literal list of what to do and what not to do. Yet we see Jesus many times refuse to answer without causing one to think, interpret and then respond.
The beauty of the Bible is Jesus teaches us to ask the right questions. Seek to understand, and seek to be open for reflection and personal growth.
Self care, self interest, self anything really is a plague that causes us to think more highly of ourselves than we should. It should cause us to take responsibility for yourself and keep us from focusing on the missteps of others. Jesus calls us to be better, and that starts with us, not them.

Understanding the Bible and Sabbath Rest
IntroductionThe Bible is often seen as a collection of independent stories, but when viewed as a whole, it reveals a consistent narrative about God’s plan for humanity.
Key Points• Chris Franke, Senior Pastor of HFF Church, hosts the HHP Podcast, discussing topics about the Bible, church, and family.• In November, Chris and his family practiced a sabbatical for 30 days, extending their weekly Sabbath rest. This transformed their lives, emphasizing resting in God’s presence rather than continual work.• During the sabbatical, Chris received significant insights regarding the church's direction and began writing extensively as he felt inspired by God.• Two key themes emerged: the necessity of forgiveness and the mission of God leading up to Jesus Christ.• Chris discusses the Beatitudes found in Matthew 5 and Luke 6, contrasting them with cultural attitudes that celebrate pride and arrogance.• He emphasizes the values of humility, mercy, and righteousness as taught by Jesus, describing these as the characteristics that define a community aligned with God’s Kingdom.
ConclusionJesus' teachings present an "upside-down" view of the Kingdom of God, where people matter and are treated with respect and kindness. For more resources or to visit the church, listeners are encouraged to engage with the community.

Our thoughts, habits, and environments shape who we are, leading to both healthy and unhealthy fears. Healthy fears, like fearing fire, are constructive, while unhealthy fears, such as fearing others who are different, are harmful. Fear is learned, so how do we unlearn unhealthy fear?
Our thoughts influence our habits, which shapes our environment. So how do we replace anxiety in our life and relationships with awe and healthy habits? By replacing fear with awe how to we reshape our priorities, and re-evaluate our unknown or perceived threats? The Bible is a road map to teach us to respect the Lord at the beginning of our wisdom process, but that requires learning about and valuing God.
We should not fear God in an abusive way but rather embrace awe in Him. This trust helps us heal and live abundantly without being held back by fear. Chris invites reflection on whether we are led by fear or conviction.
Thank you for supporting the podcast and for desiring a deeper relationships with Jesus and His Holy Spirit.

Today, many people create God in their own image instead of being transformed into His image, which represents a new creation. This shift leads individuals to remain unchanged while trying to mold God to fit their views.
In the HHP Podcast, hosted by Chris Franke, the Senior Pastor of HFF Church in Oklahoma City, discussions center on the Bible, church, and family. Chris acknowledges that all humans make mistakes, impacting those around them. When people are hurt, they may isolate, retaliate, or begin healing. Although healing is desirable, societal pressures often keep people feeling broken.
Chris reflects on Kintsugi, a Japanese art form that repairs broken pottery with gold, symbolizing beauty in brokenness with God's help. Unlike the cultural focus on self, Chris suggests centering our lives on God. Key principles include prioritizing God, loving Him and others, avoiding lust, and surrounding oneself with godly people. The culture promotes one's love of self, leading to issues like loneliness and anxiety. True identity is meant to be found in Jesus, not in material achievements.
Lastly, those blessed by the podcast are encouraged to support it and visit the website for more resources or to join the church in Oklahoma City.

As a father, I sometimes wish I could completely protect my daughters from harm, but locking them away wouldn’t be real love. Love means allowing freedom, even if it leads to pain. God is perfect and allows free will, which can result in hurtful consequences. I believe God does not enjoy our suffering but is here with us during tough times. He uses these moments for us to heal and grow, wanting to shape our character to be more like Him and less self-centered.
So why does God allow hurt? When we face difficulties, it’s easy to feel abandoned, but God is indeed with us. While He allows us to make choices, He can transform our struggles for our good. Ultimately, it’s about our renewal in a new kingdom with God, where we learn and grow from our experiences.

The Hopeful Heretic Podcast
Christian’s utilize doctrine, theology, and philosophy when attempting to define and determine how the Christian faith will be walked out. The podcast is hosted by Chris Franke who is the Senior Pastor of HFF.church in Oklahoma City. He will be joined from time to time by others leaders in the church, ministry leaders from other churches, and anyone else who could be an asset to help you develop how you think about the Bible, what you do with the Bible, and how does that help you love Jesus more. Through topics like the church in OKC, raising Godly children, bearing fruit of the Holy Spirit through faith actions, building healthy marriages, and other Christian faith topics throughout the life of the podcast. In the end the podcast hopes to help you develop a deeper and more intimate walk with Jesus in your day to day life.
